ez2view will now provide application messages

ez2view will now provide application messages to help keep you up to date

Image of the updates Application message alert

The new application message feature available in ez2view v7.4.0 is designed to help keep you up to date when new features and data are available in ez2view.

With the growing number of web widgets in ez2view, new widgets and data can be made available to your copy of ez2view without needing to upgrade to a new version.

The orange message indicator (see above) will be displayed in the window header when a new message is available. To acknowledge the message simply click on the indicator to open the application message widget. A message with a link to more information will be displayed.

New Gold Model Constraint Notification Rules Available - "Unit Has Semi-Dispatch Cap Set"

The set of notification rules that applies to generators has been expanded to include a rule to indicate if a unit has the Semi-dispatch cap set.

For Generation rules, you may need to define a DUID filter first and you do this using the DUID Filter Editor. Units selected under a Generation rule can then match a defined filter.

For More details on the Gold Notification Rule Editor please refer to the help page.

ez2view now has access to a common cloud database

A new cloud based source of data is now available to ez2view customers via v 7.3.7. The web database provides access to a hosted source of AEMO data.

The web database allows ez2view to run "out of the box" making the initial setup for users much simpler and removes the need to manage your own local database when using only public AEMO data.

The web database is suitbale for you if ...

  • You don't require access to private AEMO data,
  • You don't need to work offline and
  • You don't rely on the ez2view shared setting feature (Please note: MITC analysis requires access to the a shared settings database).
  • To configure ez2view to use the new web databse go to Tools -> Options and select Use Global-Roam Web Database.

Create your own trend widgets with the ez2view Trend Editor

Global-Roam has been working for some time to develop a new Trend Engine that enables you to "slice and dice" time series data relating to the Australian electricity markets.

The Trend Engine, which was introduced into ez2view as the "Time Series Data Viewer" widget, has been renamed the Trend Editor widget. The Trend Editor widget is still under development but as a web based widget you automatically receive updates without having to install a new version of ez2view.

As we continue to develop the Trend Editor widget, we are interested to hear how we can make the editor serve you better. If there are new features or data sets that we can include to make your job easier, please let us know by emailing feedback@global-roam.com or using the feedback icon in the top right corner of the widget Image of the Feedback Icon.

Publish your own trend widgets in ez2view

You now have the ability to Publish your trends as a widget i.e. the trend can be found via the ez2view Explorer, loaded into a layout and available to other users in your organisation just like any other ez2view widget.

In-widget Searching for Entity Details

The new in-widget search and load feature enables you to quickly search for and display details for any available entity.

Image of the Feedback Icon

Look for the new search icon next to the entity name. Start typing and a filtered list of entity ID's will be provided for you to select from.

This feature is available for the following entity types ...

  • Interconnector Details
  • Station Details
  • Constraint Equation Details
  • Constraint Set Details
